October, Where did you go?

It has been some time since my last blog...somehow October flew by me! I would first like to say THANK YOU to all of you who came to Parent/Teacher Conferences during the first week of October! I had more parents come to their meetings this year than I ever have. It is important for teachers and parents to keep in contact about student progress throughout the year to work together and teach our children to help them succeed. I appreciate all you do!

We are now preparing for our end of the month celebrations:
-On Friday (the 28th) we will have our Student of the Month assembly. Our life skill for October was Cooperation. At the assembly, one of the students from our room will receive the award for demonstrating this skill throughout the month of October.

-Next Monday (October 31st) is HALLOWEEN. As most of you know, Willow Cove has a costume parade first thing in the morning on the recess blacktop. Students are allowed to wear their Halloween costumes but please keep in mind that these should be appropriate for school (no weapons, blood, etc.). Throughout the school day, we will be having fun activities in all subject areas as well as watching the movie that follows our read aloud chapter book for October, James & the Giant Peach. At the end of the day, we will have a Halloween party in our classroom. Please join us from 12:45pm until dismissal at 1:20pm for games, crafts, and treats!! Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
